Closing the Food Waste loop, Naturally

Nutrient Rich Soil enhancer
At Terravore Recycle
We are committed to protecting our planet through thoughtful food waste management practices that reduce harm, improve soil health and limit greenhouse gases.

Vermicompost
Vermicomposting is the natural process of using worms to break down food scraps, organic waste, biodegradable waste and cardboard waste into a nutrient-rich, soil-enhancing compost called worm castings. These castings are packed with beneficial microbes and nutrients that improve soil structure, boost plant growth, and help regenerate soil, all without chemicals or synthetic fertilisers.
What we do
-
We collect Food and Cardboard Waste
Terravore partners with individuals and businesses to responsibly collect their organic waste and cardboard, diverting it from landfills.
-
We turn waste into nutrient-rich compost using Worms
Through sustainable vermicomposting methods, we process the waste into high-quality, eco-friendly compost.
-
We sell the compost YOU helped create
The closed-loop system allows you to purchase the compost made from your own waste. Perfect for gardens, houseplants, landscaping, or CSR initiatives.
Our Impact
-
Diverted from Landfill
We've already diverted over 100kg of food waste from landfill, turning waste into life and reducing harmful emissions.
-
Worm Casting Produced
We've produced over 75kg of nutrient-rich worm castings. Feeding soil, boosting growth, and closing the food waste loop.
-
CO₂e Emissions Prevented
We’ve prevented over 50kg of carbon emissions. That’s like skipping 200km of driving or charging 6,000 smartphones.
Did you know?
On average, Households in the UK throw away around 4.5 million tonnes of edible food every year. Enough to fill 38 million wheelie bins or fill Wembley Stadium nine times over.
Oops, I Binned It Again!

Food Waste
Globally, over 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted every year. About one-third of all food produced. In the UK alone, nearly 10 million tonnes of food go to waste annually, much of it still edible. Reducing food waste is one of the most effective actions we can take to combat climate change and build a more sustainable food system.

Food waste in landfills is a major environmental threat
When food is thrown away and sent to landfills, it breaks down without oxygen, releasing methane. A greenhouse gas over 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide. This accelerates climate change. Diverting food waste from landfills through composting is a simple yet powerful way to reduce emissions and restore soil health.

Save Topsoil
We are rapidly depleting the world’s topsoil. The fertile layer that sustains nearly all plant life, through intensive farming, over-tilling, and the heavy use of chemical fertilisers. These synthetic inputs may boost short-term growth, but they poison the soil over time, killing beneficial microbes and disrupting natural nutrient cycles. Meanwhile, food waste sent to landfills creates toxic leachate that can seep into surrounding soil and groundwater, further contaminating ecosystems.
Inside a Worm bin
Our goal is revolutionize waste management through vermicomposting, offering solutions that reduce landfill waste, restore soil health, and inspire a global shift towards sustainable living.
Did you know?
All the world’s nearly one billion hungry people could be fed on less than a quarter of the food that is wasted in the US, UK and Europe.
